What type of a Nurse can you be? or What type of a specialty can you actually work in?
There is a lot of specialties out there. I think I've calculated over 70 that I'm going to
share with you today.
So first off, there's different types of Nurse out there. There are;
CNAs - Which are Certified Nursing Assistants.
There are LVN/LPNs - Those are Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
And there are RNs - Which are the Registered Nurse.
And then there are the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - These are going to be your
clinical Nurse specialists, your clinical Nurse leaders, your certified Nurse midwives and
your certified Nurse anesthetists.
And then there are your Doctoral or Doctorate Trained Nurse - These are going to be
your DNPs or your PHDs.
All 70 types of Nurse specialties
1. Aesthetic Nurse.
2. Agency Nurse.
3. An Ambulatory Care Nurse.
4. American Red Cross Nurse.
5. Burn Care Nurse or like a Burn Unit Nurse.
6. Cardiac Care Nurse.

Over 71 Different Types Of Nurses

What type of a Nurse can you be? or What type of a specialty can you actually work in? There is a lot of specialties out there. I think I've calculated over 70 that I'm going to share with you today. So first off, there's different types of Nurse out there. There are; CNAs - Which are Certified Nursing Assistants. There are LVN/LPNs - Those are Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. And there are RNs - Which are the Registered Nurse. And then there are the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - These are going to be your clinical Nurse specialists, your clinical Nurse leaders, your certified Nurse midwives and your certified Nurse anesthetists.   2. Agency Nurse.
  3. An Ambulatory Care Nurse.
  4. American Red Cross Nurse.
  5. Burn Care Nurse or like a Burn Unit Nurse.

  1. Cardiovascular Care Nurse.
  2. Critical Care Nurse.
  3. Circulator Nurse - That kind of works in surgery.
  4. Case Management.
  5. Charge Nurse.
  6. And a really interesting one, a Cruise-Ship Nurse - That one sounds like it would be a lot of fun.
  7. Dialysis Nurse.
  8. Diabetes Education Nurse.
  9. Developmental Disability Nurse.
  10. Disaster Management Nurse / Bio-terrorism Nurse - Kind of needed in this day.
  11. Epidemic Research Nurse - kind of like the COVID 19, where you have nurses doing research for all these different types of germs and viruses.
  12. Emergency Room Nurse or the ER Nurse.
  13. Forensic Nurse.
  14. Flight Nurse - These are the nurses that help accompany patients from point A to point B that may be in a critical condition.
  15. GI Nurse or Gastrointestinal Nurse.
  16. Geriatric Nurse - These help take Care of our elderly population.
  17. Home Health Nurse - These nurse go into the home and help take Care of patients inside their own home.
  18. Health Administration Nurse - These are going to be your your charge nurses, your managers, your assistant managers, your chief nursing officers.
  19. Holistic Nurse.
  20. HIV/AIDs Nurse.
  1. Occupational Health Nurse
  2. Operating Room Nurse
  3. Pediatric Nurse.
  4. Plastic surgery Nurse.
  5. Perinatal Nurse.
  6. Pediatric Endoscopy Nurse.

Or, if you're an experienced Nurse and you've learned all you think you could learn in that floor, that unit wherever you're working and you want to venture out to other areas.
