Mixed Conditional Sentences
1.Type 1 Mixed Conditional Sentence
Use:
- Mixed conditional sentence 1 describes the opposite
hypothesis of the past and the result is the opposite of the
present (câu điều kiện hỗn hợp 1 diễn tả giả thiết trái ngược
trong quá khứ và kết quả trái ngược với hiện tại.)
If clause Main clause
If + S + had +"Vpp/V-
ed S" + would + V-inf
If +"conditional type 3 Conditional type 2
Example: If I had worked harder, then I would be rich now. (Nếu tôi làm việc
chăm chỉ hơn, thì bây giờ tôi đã giàu có.)
2.Type 2 Mixed Conditional Sentence
Type 2 mixed conditional sentences are used to describe
assumptions that are contrary to reality, and the result is the
opposite of the past.( Câu điều kiện hỗn hợp loại 2 dùng để
diễn tả giả thiết trái ngược với thực tại, còn kết quả thì trái
ngược với quá khứ.)

If + S + V-ed S" + would/could/might +"have + Vpp/V-ed
