Advocacies of Filipino Pharmacists
a) Pharmacy-based immunization - In addition to their perceived tasks in dispensing and
patient counseling, community pharmacists must be trained to give direct immunization
services in the community, as stipulated by Republic Act No. 10918. The goal of this
study is to identify issues that limit or obstruct community pharmacists' ability to
administer routine adult immunizations.
b) Pharmaceutical supply chain management –
c) Antimicrobial stewardship - The Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Program is a
concentrated effort in both public and private hospitals in the Philippines to improve the
appropriate use of antimicrobials across a wide variety of professions. Pharmacists have a
critical role in conserving antimicrobial therapy equipment and, as a result, improving
patient outcomes. They are advocates for AMR. May this summit enhance our resolve to
become leaders in proper antimicrobial usage in our pursuit of better health systems.

f) Medication adherence
g) Pharmacy information services
h) Disaster management
i) PharmaCEASE: smoking cessation
